Understanding the 4Cs

The beauty and value of every diamond are determined by four key characteristics known as the 4C's: Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight.

These internationally recognized grading standards are used to evaluate both natural and lab grown diamonds, helping clients understand the quality and appearance of a stone before making a purchase.

Cut

Cut is often considered the most important of the 4C's.

It refers to how well a diamond's facets interact with light. A well-cut diamond reflects light beautifully, creating the brilliance, fire, and sparkle that make diamonds so captivating.

Even a diamond with excellent color and clarity can appear dull if it is not cut properly.

Influences: Brilliance, Fire, Sparkle

Color

Diamond color measures the absence of color within a white diamond.

The grading scale ranges from D to Z, with D representing the highest level of colorlessness.

At Venoré, we focus on high-quality diamonds within the colorless and near-colorless ranges to ensure exceptional brightness and visual appeal.

Highest Grade: D (Colorless)

Clarity

Clarity evaluates the presence of natural characteristics formed during a diamond's growth process, known as inclusions and blemishes.

Most clarity characteristics are microscopic and invisible to the naked eye.

Higher clarity grades indicate fewer internal characteristics and greater rarity.

Venoré Standard: Carefully selected diamonds chosen for exceptional visual performance and beauty.

Carat Weight

Carat refers to a diamond's weight and is commonly associated with size.

While larger diamonds generally weigh more, a diamond's visible size is also influenced by its shape, proportions, and cut quality.

A well-cut diamond often appears larger and more brilliant than a poorly cut diamond of the same carat weight.

1 Carat = 0.20 Grams

The Importance of Balance

The most beautiful diamonds are not determined by a single characteristic alone.

A diamond's overall appearance is created through the balance of Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight. Understanding how these factors work together allows you to select a diamond that reflects both your preferences and priorities.

At Venoré, every diamond is carefully selected to achieve an exceptional balance of brilliance, beauty, and value.
